- Receive board training through TOC’s online training modules, including important areas such as Board Basics, Governance and Director Accountability; Finance, Legal and Ethics, Mission, Vision and Strategic Planning.
- Broaden your experience by participating in in-person networking and training opportunities, covering a variety of topics such as fundraising, intercultural communications and teambuilding
Build professional and personal relationships
- Network with other professionals and people committed to community service, and build ongoing relationships.
- TOC offers mentors to help you grow in your role as a new trustee, or as a more experienced trustee, choose to mentor someone new to board service.

Assistance with recruitment of diverse board and committee members
- Using your specific organizational needs, TOC will develop a description of your open board and committee positions and post them on the website.
- You’ll have access to a select pool of TOC members.
- The TOC website allows each organization to communicate directly with potential board and committee candidates.
Access to a large pool of well-prepared board members
- Trustee members receive online and in-person board training
- Trustee members experience team dynamics and group interaction through TOC networking and events.
- Trustees have the support of mentors available if they wish to work with one.
Access to statewide TOC board diversity events
- You are invited to participate in any event sponsored by TOC, including networking, membership recruitment, or discussions
Organizational support for inclusiveness and diversity
- All nonprofit organization members have access to a self-assessment tool on inclusiveness.
- TOC will provide assistance in interpretation and referral for training.

Cost
